Athrun Zala, HSC (born Year -17 Day 169) is an officer in the One Nation's Navy. Zala is a decorated ace pilot who served in the Imperial Navy from Year 9 to Year 13, retiring with the rank of Commodore from his role as the Commanding Officer of the Third Group of the 4th Imperial Fleet. After his Imperial service, Zala used his military expertise within several groups before finding his way to Permanent Solutions and settling in Morobe. Zala continued his military service in Tion Hegemony, and returned to Morobe in Year 21 with the inception of the One Nation. In Year 22 Zala participated in the Operation Showdown where he demonstrated that his exceptional fighter piloting skills have not faded away, earning him the nation's third highest military award.
