The Order of the Black Rose is a chivalric order of knighthood that is awarded by the Monarch of One Nation Under Jou to those who have demonstrated commitment, loyalty and rendered meritorious service to the Crown and the nation, often in the funerary and religious endeavours. Members of this Order are known as Knight Companions (with post-nominal letters KC). The Order was established in Year 27 by a Royal Warrant to formally recognise the independent funerary cult of the Black Rose that has been operating in Morobe since Year 25. The chapel of the Order is located in the mountains of Morta, where past and present members are listed, alongside their achievements.
Description
The badge of the Order is a jewelled cross with pointed arms, centre of each arm is purple, each of the eight points ends in a rounded jewel, and four rose flowers are between the arms. At the centre of the cross is an engraved rose floral cup on top of a stem with four leaves.
The ribbon bar is purple and carries a miniature badge of the Order.
The badge is worn either by itself on the left side of the chest below other awards, or at the collar. When worn at the collar, the badge is suspended from a purple ribbon, connected by a ring suspender with a silver royal crown.
