Selina's Shame

ON Selina's Shame badge.

ON Selina's Shame (5055422) is a Colossal-class heavy carrier in the logistic support branch of the One Nation Navy. The ship was constructed in Year 26 by Galactic Weapon Systems (GWS), first of three heavy carriers purchased that year from GWS by One Nation to bolster the merchant fleet of the Royal Morobe Trading Company (RMTC). The ship was commissioned into the fleet with the name Lady Selina in honour of Miras'eli'nakesh (Selina Nakesh), a Chiss noblewoman of House Nakesh, and a past associate of RMTC's Governor at the time of the ship's commission, that passed away in Year 10. The ship's badge bears an artistic rendition of Lady Selina.

During its service in the merchant fleet Lady Selina was primarily used to transport cargo across Confederate space to facilitate commerce. When the company was betrayed by Governor Nadrihm in Year 27 on Day 174, Lady Selina was among the stolen assets and the crew was forced by mutineers to relinquish control of the ship in the Alderaan system where Nadrihm set up a fugitive hideout under the guise of establishing a trade hub to support the Tenloss Syndicate.

Eventually Lady Selina was returned to Morobe where it was reconstituted into the One Nation Navy. However, the loyal crew chose to petition the Navy command to mark the dishonourable conduct of the mutineers. The ship was renamed to Selina's Shame and the crew wears a blackout version of the defunct RMTC shield on their uniforms. These dishonours are not an indication of the current crew's lack of commitment to One Nation but a visual reminder of past failures and commitment to atonement through dedication.

Naming of ships

One Nation Navy ships in commission are prefixed with ON, abbreviation of One Nation; for example ON Gothic. Conventionally, ships that share a class or a role are named in sequence according to One Nation's alphabetical naming system, or a single name is chosen with ascending numerals to distinguish individual ships; for example ON Missile Maiden I to VIII. All ship names are approved by the Navy command and can be vetoed by the monarch. Unique identification numbers are assigned to ships during construction, as per galactic production customs and regulations.

For certain classes of ships the Navy uses alternative designation for vessels purchased from galactic markets or produced by the nation's own shipyards:

  • Heavy Galleon - service designation for the Mammoth-class.
  • Support Galleon - service designation for Modular Taskforce Cruisers.
