The Black Rose Conglomerate was a mining company established in Year 24 by Amara Shailene as the commercial enterprise of the Order of the Black Rose. The company began as a mining business under the name Black Rose Extractions with the focus on asteroid field prospecting and raw materials extractions in the northern sectors of the galaxy. In the same year, Black Rose Extractions began contracting for the Confederacy of Independent Systems.

In Year 25 on Day 68 the company was renamed to the Black Rose Conglomerate to reflect the offer of a wider range of services. Several months later the company was seeking aid from the Confederacy due to changes in the galactic business regulations. One Nation Under Jou offered assistance in the spirit of the Confederate mission of mutual support, and terms were agreed. On Day 101 the Black Rose Conglomerate's corporate structure was amalgamated into the nation as a subsidiary but continues to operate independently with minimal oversight from One Nation.

Order of the Black Rose

The Order of the Black Rose is an independent funerary cult that worships the Infinite Dead and the Stewards, whom they also call gods, as their ultimate purpose and authority. The gods are not central to the cult's faith and only entities relevant to the process of collecting, judging and accepting souls to the afterlife are of any interest to the cult.

The cult has no designated homeworld, but has some religious facilities and monuments dedicated to the Infinite Dead across the galaxy, and operates across the galaxy with the sole purpose of caretaking of the dead and performing funeral rites. The cult is not supported by any particular government but members are expected to follow local laws unless persecuted. Within the cult, the members are called Mendicants and do not own any personal property whilst in service of the Order. Their leader holds the title of the Black Rose.

The Order first appeared in Morobe in Year 25 when the Black Rose Conglomerate accepted assistance from One Nation Under Jou. The cult has been predominantly found on Morta, where those in need of unarranged funerals could be found the most often due to the high presence of bounty hunters. The cult has been seen by the Church of Jou as non-interfering with the faith, since the Vorsian orthodoxy concerns itself with the living and there are no contradictions in respectful handling of the dead.
