Heart of Mercy Medal is awarded for showing exceptional devotion and competence in the performance of medical duties over a continuous and significant period, or to an individual who has performed an exceptional act of bravery to assist a person in need. The Heart of Mercy is one of the distinguished awards that allow its recipient the use of post-nominal letters and a noble title.
Description
The medal is a circular shape of pale gold colour. The obverse displays a kneeling knight on the left with a flower lily on the right, with the inscription 'There is no darkness in Jou's light'. The medal is mounted to the ribbon by a clasp with the inscription 'One Nation Under Jou'. The ribbon is rectangular, made of violet, pink, white, light and dark blue coloured stripes.
