Troika Medical Distribution (TMD), or Troika for short, is a pharmaceutical conglomerate that provides medical supplies and healthcare services to the Confederacy of Independent Systems, their affiliates, and the public through commercial sales. Troika's healthcare and distribution network spans from the southern heart of the Confederacy, through the central Morobe sector, to the northern Outer Rim territories.

History

Troika was born out of the amalgamation of Asher Institute for Medical Research, Outer Rim Medical and Royal Vorsian Healthcare in Year 24 on Day 48.[1] The merger was considered necessary because by the end of Year 23, all three companies were part of the Confederacy, either through direct ownership or affiliation. It was decided to combine the three companies to reduce redundancy and to improve efficiency of medical production, supply chains and patient healthcare across the Confederate sectors. With this merger, Troika became the largest medical distributor in the Confederacy's history.

Sub-divisions

Troika has distinct sub-divisions that correspond with the focus of each of the original three companies:

Research

The Asher Institute for Medical Research (AIMR) began its mission of advancing medical technology, research, and innovation in Year 20 as part of the Galactica Group. The Institute also offered cutting edge cybernetics produced by Cybot Galactica, one of the oldest and most successful droid manufacturers. Today, the Asher system remains the centre of medical and cybernetic research within the Confederacy.

Commercial Sales

Outer Rim Medical (ORM) can trace its history back to Year 11, when it was originally registered under the name Galactic Medical. From the very beginning the company aimed to provide affordable medical services. The original company lasted until Year 16, and re-opened in Year 21 under the Third Confederate State, operating out of the Mondress system. Troika's extensive and successful supply chains are the direct result of the expertise in sales and logistics gained over nearly a decade of operations.

Public Healthcare

Royal Vorsian Healthcare (RVH) was established in Year 23 by One Nation Under Jou and the Scrapper Guild with a charitable philosophy to provide healthcare to those in need, as well as spiritual support. Within Troika, the hospital stations established by Royal Vorsian Healthcare continue to be open to those seeking help. If you are in need of an apothecary or a priest, the healing network can currently be found in the central and northern Confederate territories.

Iconography

Troika's name is a reference to the number three. The logo is a stylized acronym of the company's name; T in pink, M in blue, and D in green. The colours were chosen to reflect the original companies that were amalgamated to become Troika; ORM colours were green and blue, RVH theme was primarily blue, and AIMR featured various shades of orange and red in its holographics. Logos of the original companies are also featured as stylized silhouettes on Troika's vertical banner.
